About My Practice
Money Mechanics are Financial Life Planners with advisors in Melbourne, Canberra and Newcastle. We help clients in the areas of money mindset, cash flow planning, wealth creation, salary sacrifice, self managed superannuation, public sector and industry based superannuation, redundancy, estate and risk management planning. Our holistic values based financial life planning approach combines technical expertise with a personalised financial plan to help customers achieve their life goals.

About Scott Malcolm
In 2005 he became the first Registered Life Planner (RLP) in Australia with The Kinder Institute of Life Planning, after completing the EVOKE training program in the United States and a 12 month mentorship program. In 2009 he completed training with The Money Coaching Institute and is interested in learning all he can about the Life Planning methodology and the psychology around people’s relationship with money. Scott has been awarded the internationally recognised CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) certification through the Financial Planning Association of Australia SMSF Specialist Advisor® (SSA) with the Self Managed Super Fund Association (SMSFA). Scott is passionate about financial literacy and education and has been running courses at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and Laneway Learning Melbourne on Financial Planning and Money topics since 2007. In 2010 completed his Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Scott sits on not for profit community boards and is a true believer in a ‘practicing what I preach‘ mentality. As a result, Scott has investments in the property and share markets along with having his own family Self Managed Super Fund while also enjoying a work-life balance. He believes everyone should try to spend time enjoying the best of career advancement and work life as well as their family life.

Ideal Clients
We work with clients at all ages, and financial stages with my youngest client being my 2 year old Neice and my oldest client being in their 90's. We ideally like working with people who are wanting to improve their financial situation or have an empowered relationship with money. We do specalise in the Public Sector Defined Benefit Super Schemes and Self Managed Super Funds.

Qualifications
Scott has been in the financial services industry since 2000 and prior to starting Money Mechanics was senior financial planner for another national firm. Scott is an Authorised Representative (ASIC No. 262368) of Infocus Securities Australia Pty Ltd ABN 47 097 797 049 AFSL No. 236523. Scott is a Registered Tax Practitioner (Financial Services) Tax Agent Number 24653755.

Compensation
We work as a fee for service firm offering clients fixed fee arrangements for our money coaching and financial advice services so you have a clear knowledge of what you are paying for.
